The real life 1976 Pirates were managed by Danny Murtaugh. They finished the season with 92 wins and 70 losses. Tragically Danny Murtaugh passed away after the 1976 season. The great Pirates teams from the seventies continued their winning tradition but failed to win the division title finishing second to the Phillies. The Pirates started out hot winning their first 5 games and also had a 10 game winning streak during the season.
